Thank you for your involvement in Aquafina MLB Pitch, Hit & Run this spring, and for contributing to a great season for this free youth skills program.

The 2009 PHR season came to a successful end at Busch Stadium in St. Louis last week, as a part of MLB All-Star Game festivities.

Here are the results from the National Finals and a picture of the finalists at home plate following the competition.

All 24 of our National Finalists represented their states and hometowns very well both on and off the field.

Thank you once again for your involvement in the PHR program and we look forward to working with you next year.

ARIZONA ASA – 16U NATIONALS

For 2009, State Commissioner Don Fishel wishes to congratulate, the 3 ELITE teams that qualified for the USA/ASA 16U National Championship. This tourney was conducted in Sioux Falls South Dakota. A tremendous amount of 164-teams participated.

USA/ASA 16U National Championship

1. Arizona Killer Bees from Tempe Arizona finished Runners-Up, 2nd Place, record 7-2

2. AZ Hot Shots-Householder from Tempe Arizona finished 3RD Place, record 6-2

3. Desert Thunder of Tucson Arizona finished 13th Place, record 7-2

To qualify for the USA/ASA Nationals:

1. Desert Thunder finished Champions for the 16U National Qualifier

2. Arizona Killer Bees finished Runners-Up in the 16U National Qualifier

3. AZ Hot Shots-Householder crowned the Champions of the Arizona ASA 16U State Championships.

Any of these 3 teams were CHAMPIONS!!!

Also for 2009, State Commissioner wishes to congratulate the 16U Class A Western National Champions, AZ Hotshots-Creed, from Phoenix. The AZ Hotshots-Creed defeated 62 other team competitors. What a tremendous CHAMPIONSHIP.

Arizona ASA 16U teams to be congratulated are:

1. AZ Hotshots-Creed, from Phoenix (1st Place)

2. Team Velocity from Tucson (5th Place)

3. Thunderhawks from Mesa (9th Place)

4. Scorpio-93 from Peoria (9th Place)

5. E.V. Pride-Hudson from Mesa (13th Place)

These teams were very competitive in the 16U Class A Western Nationals.

For the 16U Class B Western Nationals, congratulates to:

1. Havasu Thunder from Lake Havasu (9^th Place)

2. Scorchers from Lake Havasu (9^th Place)

3. Prescott Lady Hawks from Prescott (13^th Place)

4. Kingman Sidewinders from Kingman (17^th Place)

The Arizona ASA 16U Teams are perhaps the greatest ever!!!
The 12 teams recognized and congratulated will continue being AWESOME.

16U “A” GIRLS FASTPITCH

Western National Championship!
July 26 – August 2, 2009 Phoenix, Arizona

Play against the best 16U teams in the west! Teams qualified to play the 16U “A” Western National Championship need to register at www.registerasa.com

Entry fee is $450/team for a 4 game guarantee. For all details, please visit www.phxasa.org and click on 16U Western National Championship.

Arizona teams need to play in any four ASA tournaments in the state of Arizona tournaments plus the State Championship.
