2008 USA SOFTBALL WOMEN'S NATIONAL TEAM COMING TO
PRESCOTT!!!
The USA Softball Women's National Team will be coming to Prescott Arizona as part of the "Bound 4 Beijing" Tour. The team will be traveling to over 40 cities to compete against a variety of opponents from February through July to prepare for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China.
The team will be stopping in Prescott, Arizona on Sunday, May 25th to compete against the ASA Regional All Stars at Ken Lindley Field at 7:30pm.
Along with this prestigious event, the Arizona ASA and City of Prescott will be hosting a
14 & Under National Qualifier Saturday, May 24th-Monday, May 26thwith the tournament being recessed during the big game so all tournament participants can purchase tickets and attend this “once in a lifetime” opportunity.

ALTERED BATS
Arizona ASA takes a strong stance against individuals
utilizing altered bats! All League Directors as well as
Tournament Directors must institute the following, to help
protect player safety as well as the integrity of the
game;
A) Any Player discovered using an ALTERED bat, including a
DOCTORED bat, a bat with ADDITIONAL weight, or a "SHAVED" bat
shall be suspended from further involvement in the Arizona ASA
program for a minimum of 2 years!
B) The OWNER of the ALTERED, DOCTORED, WEIGHT EXCESSIVE, or
SHAVED batwill be suspended as well for a minimum of 2 years!
C) Individuals discovered ALTERING, DOCTORING, or SHAVING
bats will be suspended for a minimum of 2 years!
D) Distributors who profit from such action will be reported
to the ASA National Office for further action!
*Arizona ASA will post a listing of suspended players for
these type of violations on the Arizona ASA Website!!

ROCKY MOUNTAIN REGIONAL UMPIRE-IN-CHIEF
At the Annual Rocky Mountain ASA Regional Meeting, held in Phoenix on Saturday, September 15th, Joe Robinson was elected Rocky Mountain Regional Umpire-In-Chief. Joe had been serving as Arizona ASA UIC. Joe will immediately step in and serve as the Regional UIC. This position was vacated due to past Regional UIC Steve Rollins's recent resignation.
